Iranian ‘I’m not Alice’ to compete in Turkey

Iranian animation ‘I’m not Alice’ is to compete at the 2020 Izmir Int’l Short Film Festival in Turkey.

Iranian animation ‘I’m not Alice but here is Wonderland’ has been selected to compete at the 21st edition of the Izmir International Short Film Festival (IISFF) in Turkey.

Directed by Mahdieh-Sadat Ahmadi-Soleimani, the animation narrates the story of a girl who is struggling with the problems of her time.

Finally, she surrenders herself to the birds that she had painted.

Ahmadi-Soleimani’s animation was nominated for the Special Award at the 23rd Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.

The animation has been named among the silver winners in the Best Short – Animation at the 3rd quarter of the 2020 season of the Queen Palm International Film Festival in the US.

Launched in 2000, the IISFF is one of the most important festivals in Turkey. The festival includes international and national sections.

Documentary, experimental, and animated short films are carefully selected to compete at the festival.

The upcoming edition of the festival will be held on November 2-8, 2020.
